DH FAMILY Chris.jpg

Christine

Christine is the company’s head machinist, having worked very closely with Daniel, on developing and sampling garments for over 10 years. During her 40 years in the garment making industry, Christine has worked on everything from school uniforms to gowns commissioned for the Duchess of Cambridge for the 2011 royal wedding, at all times maintaining the highest possible quality. She enjoys working with luxurious fabrics and shares the rest of the Daniel Hanson team’s mentality that the contribution of all members of the garment making family are equally important. Almost all bespoke garments are completed, or inspected by Christine.

DH FAMILY Gita.jpg

Gita

Gita’s garment making began at the age of 7, when she cut her mother’s pencil skirt to make herself a pair of trousers; she now enjoys working with luxurious silk jacquards for a range of brands produced by Daniel Hanson. Her wide experience in the industry has ranged from knitwear to sales to producing bespoke garments based on customer designs, as well as having completed a BA in business management. Gita enjoys the sense of pride that runs through the company from the start to the end of the creation process.

DH FAMILY Jayne.jpg

Jayne

Jayne began making flight uniforms and dresses in Nottingham at the age of 17. She enjoys seeing work at Daniel Hanson through from start to finish, with her key garments having included gowns for Sir Elton John and clothes for the films ‘Entrapment’ and ‘Ronin 47’. Having watched the Hanson kids grow up and taught them to sew, Jayne has been a proud member of the Daniel Hanson family for the last 22 years. Jayne is in charge of all accessories, which she takes great pride in.

Julian

The elder son of the Hanson family, Julian joined the business in 2018. Before that time, he has worked in the music industry in several interesting roles.

Julian now is involved in the sale of Daniel Hanson brand garments and the maintenance of the company’s wholesale accounts. He also consults with design to communicate the needs and wants of his bespoke customers.

Taught to sew by Jayne at the age of 6, he made his first lined dressing gown at the age 8 from start to finish. Under instruction, he also hand-tailored a MTM suit at the age of 10.

His latest project for the business is this updated website including all content production, creative direction, and copywriting.

Julie

Julie Hanson is the managing director of Daniel Hanson. Having worked in the business since conception in 1989, she and Daniel shared a 30 year marriage. Julie knows the inner workings of the business better than anyone and thoroughly enjoys the family dynamic of her company, as well as the pride which their work brings to each employee.

Julie is a keen negotiator with incredible customer service capabilities, both client facing and dealing with trade enquiries; mailing out all dispatches promptly as well as discussing new manufacture contracts with clients all over the world.

Most of the company testimonials feature homage to Julie’s customer service and product knowledge as much as they do to the quality of the garments received, and rightly so - for the business itself is as much Julie, as Daniel.

Nicholas

Having trained in garment cutting under his father for several years, alongside his studies at the ‘Antwerp academy of Fine Arts’, Nicholas Hanson is now in charge of design at Daniel Hanson, creating and planning ranges which draw on his late father’s 35+ years in industry. Nick works on various personal design projects, specifically one-of-a-kind and experimental garments for Daniel Hanson and its’ bespoke customers.

In his spare time, Nicholas crafts sculpture from the smallest cloth leftovers (seen above) which would otherwise be discarded. He is the only member of the Hanson family to work in production at present, in cutting and creating garment specifications ready for the sewing room.

“Nick Hansen” is also a very talented and respected skateboarder.

DH FAMILY Rebecca.jpg

Rebecca

Rebecca joined Daniel Hanson as the production coordinator and cutting room manager at the beginning of 2020. Her journey making garments began as a hobby at age 11, going on to study fashion and supplying boutiques in East Yorkshire as a self-employed designer. Rebecca has extensive professional understanding of bespoke pattern alteration, including bridal wear and the art of lingerie.

Her focus at Daniel Hanson is management of all production projects and bespoke work. This is especially important when utilising the highest quality materials - high value fabric is usually woven to order. Any excess material from the production of the garments she oversees are put to use with great efficiency as the company’s offering of beautiful scarves and small accessories.

Having been at the company since 1996, he works daily with some of the world’s finest cloths and has made bespoke cashmeres and vicuna gowns for Michael Jordan, Halle Berry and other key clients. He played games with the Hanson kids after the school run in their younger days and continues to enjoy a close relationship with the whole Hanson family.
