Rarely Seen Out Of The House

The Daniel Hanson SS24 artisanal collection is inspired by the opulence & excess of rock’n’roll

The feeling of stepping from the dressing room, onto the stage.

For over three decades, Daniel Hanson products have epitomised luxury & glamour.

Each garment is produced at our Nottingham atelier and is cut individually by hand. All of our products are constructed by a small team of 6 people: they are known as some of the most highly skilled machinists and cutters in the UK.

We make the world’s best luxury dressing gowns and loungewear, rarely seen out of the house…

Nicholas Hanson’s collection of garments for DH24 features signature dressing gowns, smoking jackets, luxury 100% silk pyjamas, as well as an exclusive capsule collection of kimono and dressing gowns cut from Italian silk jacquard strike-off fabric woven by Carlo Pozzi in Como. Strike-off is the term used for the wonderul technicolour silk, often woven as a colour demonstration for the design process: these silks are commercially unavailable due to the level of craftsmanship which they require to create.

Each item in the collection promises a sensation of true belonging, luxurious comfort and superior manufacture from the makers of the world’s best dressing gowns in Nottingham, England…

Wear Them Out

The “Rarely Seen Out Of the House” photoshoot was conceptualised by Julian Hanson and features the JP Fallon psychedelic rolls royce. Julian first saw the incredible hand-painted car parked outside the Daniel Hanson pop-up shop [at 36 Savile Row] just a few days before Christmas in 2023. The owner, Frank Nash was taking a rest in the front cab of this wonderful automobile. The striking car left a mark and Julian and he took a video of the car pulling away, coincedentally, the stereo was playing The Beatles at the time…

In april of 2024, in the run up to the Savile Row concours event, Daniel Hanson hadn’t been invited to take part in the concours (as they are a temporary shop space…) but the Hanson brothers had other ideas.

Julian calls Frank Nash, the owner of the pyschedlic rolls. “Hi Frank, I’ve seen your car parked on Savile Row. Can we bring it in for the concours? I don’t have a budget, but I can offer you a bespoke dressing gown…”

“Julian, that’s the strangest offer I’ve ever heard - I accept!”

So on the 28th May 2024, Frank & the psychedelic rolls return to their spiritual home, parked outside of no.3 Savile Row, where The Beatles performed their last ever concert. Julian calls friends: Nuha, Seye & Ziyad, as well as photographer extraordinarie, Ki Price.

“I’ve got the keys to John Lennon’s old rolls, it’s parked on Savile Row overnight. wanna come over and shoot Nick’s new collection?”

“Sounds like a fun night - see you there!”

The Daniel Hanson business is known around the world by those who know.

The truest sense of personality comes from within, but what we put on helps: “…The spirit of Daniel Hanson garments, is dressing for the occasion…”
